Our product team is growing, and we're looking for a Senior Backend Python Engineer with a growth mindset—someone who loves to learn, thrives on solving hard problems, and wants a large scope of ownership within our fast-growing company.
The features and services you build will have a direct impact on our customers and our company. You’ll report directly to the Head of Engineering and work closely with company leadership, including the CEO and Head of Product. This is a co-located position to work in our headquarters in Arts District Las Vegas, NV. Paid relocation is available for the right candidate.
The ideal candidate is proficient in modern backend development using Python and has a deep understanding of designing and scaling high-performance services, especially those powering AI-driven applications. You’ll join product planning early, contribute to architecture decisions, and help ensure our backend systems remain scalable, maintainable, secure, and reliable as we grow.
Attend product planning meetings and collaborate to define, scope, and prioritize new features.
Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend services, including APIs and service interfaces for internal and external integrations.
Implement AI-driven features for messaging, real-time voice, and autonomous agent workflows.
Optimize and scale database queries and data processing pipelines.
Design and implement high-concurrency, event-driven systems and messaging/streaming infrastructure to support large volumes of real-time and asynchronous workflows.
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability issues.
Ensure backend systems adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.
Maintain and improve testing, development, and production environments.
Collaborate with frontend and Ruby on Rails engineers to ensure seamless product integration.
5–8+ years of experience with Python in production backend development.
Experience with MongoDB (schema design, performance optimization, indexing strategies) and familiarity with relational databases.
Experience with AI/LLM integrations.
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and designing scalable, distributed systems.
Experience designing, implementing, and integrating backend services and APIs, ideally with frameworks such as FastAPI.
Experience with asynchronous processing and concurrency frameworks (e.g., asyncio, Celery).
Experience building event-driven or real-time communication systems with messaging/streaming infrastructure (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka, Redis Streams).
Experience implementing unit, integration, and load tests.
Familiarity with cloud deployment platforms (Heroku, AWS, or GCP).
